How to Extend Load in TM

Every TM promo comes with two separate things: the data or minutes you paid for, and a countdown clock that decides how long you get to use them. The moment the clock hits zero, whatever is left disappears — even if there are gigabytes sitting unused. TM's fix is called extending: it lets you buy one more day of validity for a small fee instead of losing everything and paying for a brand-new promo.

What Extending Your Load Does

TM promos run on two tracks: the amount of data, calls, or texts you bought, and how many days you can use them. Extending only touches the second track — it buys one more day, nothing else.

What Extending DoesWhat It Does NOT Do
Adds 24 more hours of validityAdd new data, calls, or texts
Keeps your unused balance usableRefresh app bundle freebies
Costs a flat ₱5 in most casesWork on already expired promos
On EasySurf promos, only your main open-access data carries over. The app bundle freebies (FunALIW, FunACHIEVE) still expire on the original schedule — this is why bundle apps can stop working even after a successful extend.

Extending adds 24 hours of validity for ₱5 and keeps your unused main data alive.

What You Need Before You Extend

  • At least ₱5 of regular load — promo balance or Utang Load will not work
  • Your current promo must still be active (once TM sends the expiration notice, the window closes)
  • The promo must support extension — most popular ones do, but some limited-time offers do not
Extending keeps your remaining balance and costs only ₱5. Re-registering wipes your current balance and charges the full promo price again. If you still have data left and only need a few more hours, extending is almost always cheaper.

How to Extend Using the EXTEND Code

This is the original method and still works for call, text, and combo promos in 2026.

  1. 1Open your messaging app and start a new message
  2. 2Type EXTEND in capital letters
  3. 3Send it to 8080
  4. 4Wait for the confirmation SMS with your new validity date

TM deducts ₱5 only after the extension goes through, not when you send the text. Plain EXTEND is most reliable when you have only one active promo — with several running, it may extend whichever is closest to expiring, which is why data promos use a separate code.

How to Extend EasySurf With EZ EXTEND

EasySurf — including EZ50, EZ70, and similar tiers — uses a dedicated keyword so the system knows you mean your data promo. Type EZ EXTEND (with a space) and send to 8080; wait for the confirmation that your EasySurf data is valid for another 24 hours.

FREE Extend OffersTM occasionally runs campaigns giving one free extension day on select promos (commonly EasySURF50 Doble Data). Text FREE EXTEND to 8080 before expiry to add 24 hours to your open-access data at no cost — once per subscription, main data only, and only the first EasySurf subscription qualifies.

Extend via USSD or GlobeOne

USSD: dial *143# → select Combo or EasySURF → choose Extend → confirm the ₱5 charge. This works even when SMS fails during congestion. GlobeOne: open the app, tap your active promo, look for the Extend / Get More Time button — it deducts ₱5 automatically and pushes your expiry forward one day.

Unsure how much time or data you have left? Run a quick TM balance inquiry first so you know whether extending is worth the fee.

Cost and Best Timing

ActionCost
Sending the EXTEND or EZ EXTEND textFree
Successful extension₱5.00
Using *143# to extend₱5.00
Extending through GlobeOne₱5.00
The safest window is 1–2 hours before your promo expires. Sending it right after expiration won't work (the promo is gone), and sending it two days early also fails (there's nothing to extend yet). Call and text promos can be extended up to 365 times a year.

Common Errors and Fixes

ErrorLikely CauseQuick Fix
Insufficient balanceLess than ₱5 regular loadReload at least ₱10, then resend
Service not available for your promoPromo does not support extensionWait for it to expire and register a new one
Invalid keywordTypo, usually the missing space in EZ EXTENDRetype carefully and resend
Message sending failedCongestion or weak signalSwitch to the *143# dialer method
Promo already expiredSent after the cutoffNo fix; register fresh

If SMS keeps failing even with a strong signal, a quick TM signal check can rule out a wider network issue before you keep retrying.

What Happens If You Don't Extend in Time

The moment your promo expires without an extension, TM switches your line to Regular Browsing mode. Any leftover gigabytes — even several unused GBs — are deleted permanently. Worse, Regular Browsing charges your regular load at standard per-KB rates, which drains your balance far faster than any promo. Setting a reminder an hour before expiry avoids both the lost data and the surprise deductions.
