How to Fix TM Signal Problem Today

A TM signal problem usually feels bigger than it actually is — one minute your bars are full, the next your phone shows "No Service." Before you assume the whole network is down, know that TM runs on the Globe network, and most no-signal issues are local: they come from your device, your SIM card, or the spot you're standing in, not a nationwide blackout.

Is This a TM Outage or Just Your Phone?

Before you touch a single setting, figure out whether the problem is on TM's end or your device. This one check saves twenty minutes of pointless troubleshooting.

  • Check TM and Globe's official Facebook and X pages for outage announcements
  • Use a downdetector-style website and search for TM or Globe
  • Ask someone near you on the same network if their signal works
  • Check the weather — storms and typhoons often cause short, temporary drops
If only your phone shows no signal while others around you connect normally, the issue is almost always your device or SIM, not the network.

Quick Fixes for TM No Signal Today

Try these first — each takes under a minute and solves the problem more often than people expect.

  1. 1Toggle Airplane Mode: turn it on, wait ~15 seconds, turn it off — your phone re-searches for the nearest TM tower
  2. 2Restart your phone: hold power, tap Restart, and let it fully boot to clear small software glitches
  3. 3Reinsert or clean the SIM: eject the tray, wipe the gold contact with a dry cloth, reseat it flat until it clicks
An airplane-mode toggle, a restart, or reseating the SIM clears most no-signal cases.

Fix TM SIM No Signal on Android

  • Go to Settings → Network & Internet (or Connections) → Mobile Network
  • Tap Network Operators and set it to select automatically
  • Under Preferred Network Type, choose Auto instead of locking to 5G or LTE only
  • If needed, Reset Network Settings (System → Reset → Reset Network Settings), then restart
Two hidden diagnostic codes help: dial *#*#4636#*#* to refresh the phone's radio without a full restart, and *#*#64663#*#* to run a SIM detection test. If a code opens nothing, your model doesn't support it — just move on.

Fix TM SIM No Signal on iPhone

  • Settings → Cellular → Network Selection: turn off Automatic briefly, then back on to force a tower search
  • Cellular Data Options → Voice & Data: set to LTE or 5G Auto instead of a fixed option
  • Reset Network Settings: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings
  • Check for a carrier settings update: Settings → General → About, and tap Update if prompted

Check Your Date, Time, and APN

Two lesser-known causes trip up a lot of people. If your device's clock is off even slightly, the tower can reject the secure handshake it needs to connect. Turn on Automatic Date & Time to fix this. And if your APN settings are outdated, data can stay dead even while calls and texts work — see our full TM APN settings guide to set it correctly.

TM SIM No Signal After Registration

If you just activated a new TM SIM or ported your number, don't panic if the signal doesn't appear immediately.

  • A newly activated SIM can take a little time to register — usually 30 minutes to a few hours
  • Ported numbers take longer, sometimes up to 24 hours
  • An unregistered SIM cannot connect at all — the SIM Registration Act requires every SIM to be registered first

If it's been longer than that and you've already registered, reach out to support. For the full activation process, see our TM SIM activation guide; if the dialer throws an "invalid MMI code" error while you troubleshoot, see that fix.

TM SIM No Signal While Roaming

  • Turn on Data Roaming in your cellular/mobile network settings
  • Manually select a partner network in that country instead of leaving it on automatic
  • Confirm roaming is enabled on your account for that country before you travel

For the complete setup, see our how to activate TM roaming guide.

Hardware and SIM Damage Signs

Sometimes the problem is physical. Look closely at the gold chip on your SIM — scratches, cracks, or a bent card are all signs it's failing. If the SIM fails in every phone you try, the card is likely the problem, not the device. A dropped phone can also damage the internal antenna. Test your SIM in a phone you know works: if your SIM works there, your device is the problem; if it still shows no signal, the SIM likely needs replacing.

Simple logic to isolate the fault: if another TM SIM works in your phone, the problem is your SIM. If your SIM works in another phone, the problem is your device. If neither works, it's likely the network — check for an outage or contact support.
